A weekend at Double Tree Hotel Kuala Lumpur - Part 2 - Walking around KLCC and the Executive Lounge

On Saturday after breakfast we went for a walk around the KLCC area. While going down to the ground floor, took a picture of the tol gate for AKLEH.

 From the Intermark building complex, there is a pedestrian bridge that connects the building to the entrance of the underground opposite Ampang Park.

Looking back you could see the Intermark building complex with a number of key anchor tenants such as Double Tree, Jaya Grocers, J.P.Morgan and many more.

You will also pass Kuala Lumpur's first shopping arcade, the famous Ampang Park Shopping Centre. This place looks so small now.

Back to the hotel. It was a good walk.

Only spent a night at the hotel. After another round at the pool, it was time to vacate. Nevertheless, the hotel still allowed us to use the lounge facilities well pass noon.

Just before we left the building saw the menu of one of the many restaurants at Intermark. Note the funny star names used for their menu.

Langkawi Holiday, November 2013 - 08 - Agro Technology Park or Taman Agroteknologi, Stesen Mardi Langkawi

Our final destination on this lighting tour is the Agro Technology Park or Taman Agroteknologi, Stesen Mardi Langkawi. This is a testbed of fruit trees that could be commercially viable in Malaysia.

At this outdoor laboratory, there are many things to do.

We took a tram ride with a tour guide to explain the interesting parts of the park. I took a selfie on the tram.

The park is quite large and beautifully landscaped.

I couldn't believe it but in Malaysia, in the tropics, you can grow grapes without a greenhouse! Through experiments, Mardi is able to grow grapes for consumption. It seems that the produce from this set of vines have gone to market.

From my observation, the grapes are smaller than their temperate counterparts but equally as sweet. The skin in rougher. First winery in Malaysia anyone?

As you can see here, the size of the bunch is subtantial.

Doesn't look out of place if put side by side with temperate green grapes.

Company Trip to Surabaya, Indonesia - Part 05 - Fancy dress dinner show

See previous posting.

At night the hotel is bath in warm light. Very romantic.

The mature trees around the property too gives it a very jungle-like feel. To some, it may appear scary. I took this picture at midnight looking straight up. You can just about see the full moon through the leaves.

The fancy dress dinner was themed "Wonderland". Here are some of the guests in their best costumes.

The whole event was staged in one of the gardens with the sky as the ceiling. It was nicely set up.

The food was placed at the side of the garden. Buffet style.

It was a lovely evening with friends and colleagues. Made new friends too.

USA Trip 2013: Part 11.1 - The final day at Disneyland - so sad - going to all the favorite rides and things we missed earlier

Started the last day at Disneyland by wearing my Disney watch that my wife got me for my birthday.

Everyday that we went to Disneyland, we always transit via the Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. This is the grandest Disneyland hotel in the resort. Took some photos to remember this hotel.

The main lobby is so grand and very American Forest Lodge themed.

This is the main Disney merchandise shop in Downtown Disney.

This is the Lego shop in Downtown Disney.

We went to Disneyland Park first and hitched a ride in a vintage fire engine.

While waiting for the trip to start, saw Mickey and Minne Mouse dancing to a band!

After going to some of our favorite rides in Disneyland Park, we headed to Disney California Adventure Park. We took a picture of the kids with  the bronze statues of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse.
