Continuation from:

Working visit to Tokyo, Japan - Vending Machine styled Restaurant Combo- Part 3

The ADB Institute is located somewhere inside this tall building in the heart of the business district of Tokyo.

The ABMF Conference was held inside the ADB training floor which can fit a few hundred people.

Went for a seminar in Westin Langkawi. With IMD lecturers.

Took a MAS flight to Langkawi. The journey started in KL Sentral.

Waiting for the word to board the plane.

Flight was only 50 minutes and Westin got a car to pick me up from the airport. Approximately 25 minutes later, I got my room.

Quite luxurious.

A waste though as I will be locked up in a seminar room most of the time.

All this for just one person.

I was made to understand that this was originally Sheraton.

Some modern and old fittings.

The view outside my room (there is also a porch) is beautiful.

There resort has a vast compound and the vegetation is well kept.

At the end of the first day, a sunset cruise was organised. We went on a large yacht out of the Langkawi Yacht Club boating facility.

Sat in front of the boat. Selfie!

The boat is about to pull away from the pier.

The weather was nice and got o enjoy the sunset. We also had dinner on the boat although most of us didn't eat much (don't want to get sick as the boat was rolling while anchored in the middle of the sea).

Next morning after breakfast and before the start of the seminar got a chance to take a picture of one of the pools in the resort.

The seminar is full swing.

The second pool in the resort.

The beach here is not that nice.

The day before heading home. Final shot of the resort.

Going into the departure hall.

The end.

On assignment to Hainan Island, China - Part 03 - The One Day Conference

Continuation from:

On assignment to Hainan Island, China - Part 02 - La Meridien Resort

Below was the bunting regarding the conference or seminar that I attended.

The opening speech.

The session I was invited to be the moderator for a panel of 4 speakers from the region. Had to use headphones to listen to interpreters. Very United Nation like.

My colleague doing his presentation.

Another panel in session.

That one day seminar only ended at 7:30 pm! Exhausting.

On assignment to Hainan Island, China - Part 01 - To the island

It was very early in the morning in KLIA to catch the flight to Hainan, China. Flying by Cathay Pacific Airlines. Morning is just about to start.

Was lucky to be able to fly by Business Class. On Cathay Pacific aircraft (an Airbus), the Business Class passengers have individual sections facing a way from the window. Here is a picture from where I was sitting with my back against the window.

Selfie.

The first leg of the trip was to Hong Kong. After a short one hour wait we took a Dragon Air airplane to Hainan Island. Below are photos from the aircraft.

The airport in Hainan Island that I landed was called Haikou Meilan International Airport. The island is so huge that they have two international airports. The most incredible thing is that the resort when the conference (which I was attending) took another 2:30 hours of traveling on bus to get there. I only arrived that at 7 pm (both the local time and KL time are the same).

To be continued.
