After breakfast and seeing the kids are safely in the pool, I decided to walk around the hotel to take some photos of the resort. In the foyer is a large collage of the Beatles.
From the beach front, you can see the signage of the Hard Rock Hotel. Note the hotel is low rise, only 6 floors high. The best rooms are on the ground floor as you have direct access to the pool from your individual balconies.
The pool that fronts the hotel covers the whole length of the hotel. There are deep end, shallow ends, water slides for kids, some parts have sandy bottoms while others have tiled bottoms. There is a place for every one from oldies, kids, teenager and honeymooners.
I took these few pictures from the roof of the Kids Activity Centre and the gym. Nice open space with deck chairs. From here you can see the beach.
The left wing of the hotel is more secluded.
A large tree pot with the Hard Rock logo on it.
The beach. Relatively clean but not so the waters. Also, need to be careful as activities such as ATV riding as well as parachute towing is common in the area. You can just see a few jet skis waiting for customers.
Nice and empty beach.
At the center of the pool complex is the bar and on the bar's roof are bronze statues of the Beatles - life size!
At the entrance, a very nice electric guitar post box.
The car park foyer. Small, just enough to handle one car at a time.
Behind the car foyer is a huge bronze guitar and logo.
On the right of the hotel foyer is the main entrance of the Hard Rock Cafe. Here, the statue is marble and fashioned after Abraham Lincoln's statue in Washington. However, it is the King of Pop, Michael Jackson that is sitting.
The hotel as seen from the road.
Beside the complex is a small bungalow which houses all the merchandise under the Hard Rock banner called "The Rock Shop".
That weekend, a foam party was scheduled.
A nice canvas painting of Ray Charles - this was placed in a toilet!
If you want to know more about this hotel and its contact details, below is a name card that carries all the necessary information.
I enjoyed the stay.

Trip to Penang Island & Hard Rock Hotel - Day 1.3 - The Hotel room
[see previous postings]
The room that we chosen was the suite. The room was on the 5th floor and overlooks the car park. A similar suite overlooks the swimming pool and if you are keen, you can get the suite with direct access to the pool situated on the ground floor of the hotel.
The room comes with a king-size bed. Note the photograph of the Beatles at the head of the bed.
The TV and the low laying cabinet. The hotel provide DVD player as well as a radio system.
Toilet is a bit small for a suite and it does not come with a bathtub.
The suite comes with a kids room. Can easily fit in 4 kids as the beds (including the sliding one) are slightly smaller than queen size. It also comes with a well stock library of children's books as well as soft toys. My kids went wild.
The main attraction of this room is the Sony PS3 console plus TV.
You can see the cubby holes with books and soft toys.
My son acting out a "toilet" scene!
To be continued.

Trip to Penang Island & Hard Rock Hotel - Day 1.2 - Arrived at the hotel and straight to lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe
[see previous postings]
Noon traffic in Penang Island was bad. We arrived at the hotel only around 14:00 hours. After registering with the front desk, we were told that the room is still not ready yet.
The lobby is more like a cafe than a typical hotel lobby. My son waiting for the paperwork to be done.
The front desk of the hotel is also a bar!
Anyway, instead of just waiting around for the room to be readied, we decided to go for lunch. I was famished after that 4 hour drive.
The atmosphere in this particular Hard Rock Cafe is similar to what you would find in any other branches. Loads of musical memorabilia around.
There is a stage for live performances. I am only surprised by smallness of the hall. I expected it to be bigger.
My second daughter giving my son a peck on the cheek. He looks appalled! Priceless........
