My own personal "man-cave" - a work in progress

Every man should have his own "man-cave" in his own home that is strictly off-limits to other members of the family. In my case I was able to carve out a small part of the house in Putrajaya to start developing one.

Honestly, it is not completed as yet. Although I have a small multi-gym equipment in it, my wife and kids still comes in to use it.

The shelves are all full of stuff. Can' display my books as well as my toys properly.

It is a shame...I need to have dedicated shelves for books and toys.

Even for my giant Lego model I had to put it on top of a 1000 piece puzzle. Note the framed art pieces that is still wrapped and kept at the side.

I can't even find a good place to put my loose weights.

I need to do some form of renovation. Question is when and how much....

A loft window that turns into a small belcony design

Saw this picture and I wonder whether this is already commercially available?

Would love to put one up on my roof. Gives a good reason to convert the empty space in the roof into a loft!

Solar panels on my roof

Here is a photo of the solar panels on my roof. Nicely generating RM1,000-RM1,400 per month for me since December 2012. With the hot season coming, expect more!!

Cluster neighborhood - none efficient use of space

This photo of a cluster neighborhood somewhere in Europe shows the wastage in land area. Although the concept may be unique, as a house owner, I am not keen to own a longish property. It would be better to have a rectangle property for space efficiency.

A playground swing concept for a dining table - kids will enjoy it

If you have an extra dining room at home and you want to make it more playful, why not having this as the main attraction? I would.

Houses built on top of a mall in China

When I first read the caption of the picture before viewing it, I though it meant building an apartment block or blocks on top of a mall. However, when I did see the picture, it blew my mind as it looks like the developer created bungalow lots on the roof of the mall. If you stand on the roof, you feel like you are standing in an area surrounded by 4 houses.

Do you think this idea can catch on here in Malaysia?

The yield of my solar power plant since it went live - go green power!!!

Below is a snapshot of the energy generated from my solar power plant which I installed on top of my roof in Putrajaya. On 22 May 2013, I was able to pump in 32.89 kWh of energy into the national grid.



The snapshot below shows the yield of my power plant since it went live this year. I was able to generate 4.88 MWh of energy into the national power grid.



Note the sophistication of the system that one can employ even in a home environment. Wireless access to the plant using the mobile network. Taking a step back, I am actually amazed with the technology currently available now. Can you imagine how it would be like in 5 years time?
