Joined a focus group organised by TNB for the Feed-In-Tariff programme

If you have been following my blog, I have been a solar power producer for TNB since late November 2012. Making good money, I might add.

Recently, TNB, via Universiti Tenaga Nasional organised a focus group to gauge customer satisfaction. Did give some good feedback to them. At the end of the morning, lunch was provided plus RM200!

New survey on people's perception on immortality

There is a new survey on immortality. I would like to know how many of you would feel if you had the option to decide either for immortality of mortality.

The results could be very interesting. I want to compare to a similar survey conducted by Reader's Digest.

"Do you want to live forever?"

That’s the question Reader’s Digest has asked of online survey respondents.

Reader’s Digest? Since when does the favorite bathroom magazine of senior citizens start asking such questions? This must be an indicator of something, although I’m not sure what.

In any case, here’s what they reported:

So much for eternal youth! Most respondents to our latest global survey are just fine with their limited shelf life here on earth. Not even the younger crowd consistently chooses immortality. In fact, more than 50 percent of those 45 and under in seven countries (including the United States) report that they don’t want to live forever. Brazilian youth buck the trend, with 74 percent preferring no expiration date. Two surprises: In the Philippines, everyone over 45 wants life everlasting; in China, not a single older survey-taker does.

And here is a graph showing percentages of people from 17 countries who answered, Yes, they would like to “live forever.”



Obviously, this is not a scientific survey, and it’s also not clear if we can learn anything valuable by asking such an unadorned, unqualified question. It does seem to show, however, that the possibility—and desirability—of a radically prolonged healthy lifespan is taken more seriously by more people than some of us might have thought.

Hi all!

Due to the events unfolding in Malaysia regarding the sodomy allegation against a political figure, I was wondering whether we should abolish the Sodomy Law from Malaysia's penal code. To gauge the views of the general public, I have decided to add a survey on the left bar of my blog.

Option 1: Yes, if the act was done by consenting adults
Option 2: No, it is an unnatural act.

Blogger's Shoutout: Survey results

Since I started blogging last month, I published on my blog 2 surveys. One on whether the current Prime Minister of Malaysia should resign and another is to find out how many books that a typical Malaysian would read in a year.

The result of the surveys are as follows:

Survey 1:
100% of the despondence would like to see the PM resign.

Survey 2:
100% of the despondence read less than 3 books in a year.

However, I would like to point out that the surveys have a very high margin of error as the number of correspondences did not reached the required level to to be statistically relevant.

I will be putting up a new survey sometime soon. Please look out for it.
