Langkawi April 2015 - Off to a beach holiday - Part 1

At the start of April we took a family holiday to Langkawi. A pure beach holiday with no itinerary whatsoever. As usual we took the first MAS flight out of KLIA to Langkawi. Before dawn we were already waiting for the ERL train at the Putrajaya station for the airport.

Despite the early morning, the train was already full and we had to stand.

At the airport it was straight to the departure hall as we did not have any luggage to put into the cargo hold.

This time when we flew MAS we took the advantage of the MH Upgrade programme. I put a bid for 5 business class tickets and we actually got it for just additional RM150 per person.

The kids had a whale of a time in MAS Golden Lounge. We started our holiday early (or should I say our eating binge early).

The plane to take us to Langkawi.

The kids have never flown business class before. So they are really happy to find the bigger sitting arrangement as well as the additional services provided.

In the flight, the five of us were the only one on Business Class. We felt special.

Taxi time.

Taking off to Langkawi. Hooray!

Disneyworld 2014: Animal Kingdom, Africa, Lion King Stage Show - Part 12

Please refer to the previous entries.

After the safari ride we decided to go for a Lion King stage show. While waiting we walked around to see the sight and sound.

The scenery is just spectacular. All designed and made by man based on a dream.

The buildings look so rustic.

Time to head to the show to get a good seat.

The stage is surrounded by the seating arrangement.

The show was spectacular.

Disneyworld 2014: Animal Kingdom, Dinoland - Part 09

Please refer to previous postings.

In Dinoland there is a huge life-size dinosaur made out of stone. The color choice of yellow is a bit off in my view.

In this section of the park, the many buildings are designed to look like forward research stations. Note the lack of crowd (I like it this way).

There are other dinosaur statues that are more realistic. My kids told me that these dinosaurs were from the movie 'Dinosaurs'.

The first official trill ride for our Disneyworld trip is the 'Dinosaur' ride. Couldn't take a lot of pictures because of poor lighting. Only photo I got was just before we got into the vehicle. This is like a coaster ride.

As usual, at the end of the ride, the exit will always lead to a merchandise shop.

The next ride we took was more of a typical amusement park ride with wild light and gaudy decor. The kids enjoyed it.

Not a very high roller-coaster but has a lot of sharp turns and spinning.

The rest of the stuff here is very 'amusement' park like.

We then saw our first Disney character 'meet-and-greet' session. We immediately join the queue.

My son.

Still waiting...

Finally met Goofy as Santa Clause!

Oh, before I forget, the fun park is called 'Chester & Hester's Dino-Rama'.

Abstract art perhaps?

Here is a large play area when the kids can climb all over the place.

Quite a number of interesting bulletin boards all over the place where information about dinosaurs are put up.

A picture of me with a dinosaur skull.

The kids on a truck..

Actual bone of a dinosaur that was unearth...

After a while we decided to head to the Asian section...

Welcome to Asia!!

Disneyworld 2014: First day at a Disney park. First stop, Animal Kingdom - Part 08

We had a good night's rest and roaring to go to the parks. Early in the morning after a quick breakfast the kids were already waiting outside the room.

This the the hotel block that we stayed in. Only two floors but if you have a lot of baggage, not that fun at all.

The whole resort complex is very natural and follows the concept of the bayou.

We caught the complimentary feeder bus from the resort to Animal Kingdom. Although it was a Monday, the bus was relatively full. Mostly family with young children.

The Animal Kingdom is the furthest park from the hotel. It took a good 15 minutes on the bus to get there (loads of traffic lights and stops in other hotels en-route. We arrived just before the gates opened and the main car park was relatively empty.

Christmas is just around the corner and the whole place is being decorated for that event. At the entrance was a giant Christmas tree.

As this is the Animal Kingdom, the decoration on the giant tree has animal motives all around.

The entrance to the park. Surprisingly, it looks very simple and small.

Just before you enter the park is the famous Rainforest Cafe.

Once you enter, you will need to go through a tree covered path.

Our first FastPass. This allows us to beat the queues.

First stop is Dino Land...
