Langkawi Holiday, November 2013 - 07 - Kota Mahsuri

After the tiring but visually stunning time at Telaga Tujuh, we headed towards Kota Mahsuri, where the legend of Mahsuri is exhibited.

The complex requires some form of walking to get around.

After paying for tickets, we are first presented with a Gamelan troupe.

On the grounds, there are a number of explanatory boards about the legend of Mahsuri.

Teambuilding in Phuket - 02 - Arrived in Phuket and lunch at the Royal Phuket Marina

After getting our luggage and passing immigrations, we boarded our bus to make our way to our hotel on Patong Beach. The drive is expected to last for one hour. As we arrived at noon, we took a short detour to the Royal Phuket Marina which was on the way to the hotel.

Half an hour later we arrived at the Marina.

There's a lot of boats at the piers. Note also the dark clouds. Despite it being noon, the felt like dawn.

As usual, checking stuff on hand phones is a must.

We then hopped backed into the bus for our final leg of the day - Impiana Resort Patong. Half and hour later from the Marina, we arrived at Patong Beach.

Sungai Klah Hot Springs, Gua Tempurung & Kellie's Castle - Part 5 - Day 2 - Early dinner of prawns at Tanjung Tualang, Tiger Prawn Capital of Malaysia

About 20 or so kilometers away from Kellie's Castle is the town of Tanjung Tualang. Made famous by the number of restaurants specialising in Tiger Prawns. The specilisation is so absolute that this town has been given the honour as the Tiger Prawn Capital of Malaysia.

We found a restaurant and quickly went to choose the items we want to eat. The interesting thing about this particular restaurant is that everything that we want to eat is still alive and swimming.

Everyone is satisfied and getting ready for the long journey back to Kuala Lumpur.

Sungai Klah Hot Springs, Gua Tempurung & Kellie's Castle - Part 4 - Day 2 - A visit to Kellie's Castle near Batu Gajah

About 70 km North of Sungkai is the town of Batu Gajah where you will find Kellie's Castle. An uncompleted castle of a Scotsman.

The grounds have been beautified with tourists in mind.

The tourists reception area is on one side of a river while the castle is on the other side. A walking bridge linked both sides.

If the castle was allowed to be completed, it will be one heck of a house.

One section of the house was completed by the museum authorities to show how it would look like if completed. Looks nice using period furniture.

There are actually two houses on the property. The first is a normal house which was destroyed during World War 2. My son posing next to an old wood fired oven in the destroyed house.

This is part of the destroyed home which used to house the previous owner of the property. The plan was them to move to the castle when completed and keep the original house as a guest house.
