Resort Review: Tanjung Rhu, Langkawi Kedah

This is the most expensive resort that I have even been to on my own. At a price of RM1600 per night, I prayed hard that I will get the satisfaction for the money spent!

The resort is situated on the northern part of Langkawi Island. The Andaman Sea faces the resort and in the horizon, you can distinctly see Thailand. As this resort is in a natural cove, the waters are very calm and were not affected by the 2004 tsunami incident.

Oh what a beautiful resort! I love it! Worth every cent I spent. In fact, the package was very attractive in that the price is on a per room basis and includes all food and drinks (non-alcoholic), the mini bar (topped up daily) as well as the use of non-motorised water sport equipment.

The food was simply delightful. With six restaurants and cafes (plus the 24 hours room service), guests are spoilt for choice. It is so satisfying when one signs off a RM500 meal knowing it is already covered under the all inclusive package.

There are 3 swimming pools and a very Zen/Balinese spa centre. With over 2 km of beachfront just for the resort’s guest, it is like heaven on earth.

The resort conducts complimentary courses for guests, from cooking to woodcarving. If you have children, their time will be full.

Verdict: Instead of spending a lot of money overseas, why not spent it on you at Tanjung Rhu. You could never imagine Malaysia has such a brilliant resort close by.
