Please refer to the previous posting.
After a one and a half hour bus ride from the airport, I arrived at the Prince Tokyo Hotel near the Imperial Gardens. Its a slightly dated hotel built in the 1960s. Would have preferred a newer hotel but you would then have to pay the price. Even for this hotel, it cost a bomb for a room.
The lobby is surprising spacious. The reception desk has the 1980s feel to it and it has pigeon holes for the keys and messages!
The lobby bathed is a glow of warm lighting.
Green carpet! Yuck!!!! But it is spacious.
All the standard amenities are provided.
The King size bed. Note the rather bare walls. No paintings or anything on them.
The toilet is also clinically functional. The automatic bidet is first class.
Old fashion wall tiles.
The view outside my room is a massive carpark. Who says Tokyo is cramped with buildings and such...
This definitely confirms the age of this hotel. You still need a room key to get in.
This hotel does not provide coffee or tea or bottled water in the rooms. You have to go the your floor's lift lobby to find vending machines for drinks. Another trick is to get loads of free ice-cubes from the ice machine on each floor (this is free) and use the kettle to boil (kettle is provided, surprisingly).
To be continued.
