Hilton Kuching Sarawak's garden and pool area (with photos)
MORE?
In my previous posting on Hilton Kuching (Hilton Kuching - Rooms looks old and worn out (with photos) I highlighted the dated nature of the fittings in the hotel which would, in my mind, strip the hotel off at least one of its star ranking.
Nevertheless, the hotel garden is something else. Unlike other hotels that I have visited before, Hilton Kuching has a large garden. In fact, the city hotel looks like a country resort. As seen in the photo below, apart from the vast expense of grass, they have a stand-alone cottage that caters for food for visitors.
From the garden, you will be able to see the main facade of the hotel.
Due to the fact that this hotel was designed in the 1980s, the pool has a deep-end (more than 1.8m deep) unlike the current batch of pools designed for newer hotels. The deep-end allows patrons to dive.
The ample space available also allows the hotel to make another separate pool for children (see the photo below). There is also another stand-alone house for the washroom and changing-room facilities.
As this is a city hotel, the border of the hotel's property immediately looks into other properties typical in city centres such as shoplots.
One section of the property that is brilliant and provide Hilton Kuching with a premium is the riverside view. Simply stunning especially at night when the lights are switched on.
Would the nice exterior balance the poor rating given to the hotel interior? Unfortunately, NO, not for me. Personally, the interior is key. I pay to sleep in a hotel not to lounge in the garden or pool!
