Located on the highlands in Pahang, Awana Resort has all the ingredients to become a world class hill station. In reality, it is a flop. The design of the building, the quality of service as well as the target market will never generate the revenue needed to cover the value of the flora and fauna that was removed to make way for it.
I stayed in that hotel once plus a couple of day visits. My experiences in all those instances ranged from poor to mediocre. The service by the frontline staff was poor, the furniture and fittings were on the verge of collapse and facilities are pathetic.
Verdict: Don't bother visiting. If you have money and would like to try it out, I suggest you donate your money to charity. I can guarantee you the level of satisfaction in that act are better than experiencing the horrors of Awana.
