Resort Review: Avillion Port Dickson

My first experience staying in a chalet on stilts on the sea was a pleasant one. Located at the famous Port Dickson beachfront, the rooms in this resort are mostly on stilts. However, this resort also has rooms in a tower block by the beach for tour groups (cheaper).

The only gripe I got is the size of the available beach. This resort was created on reclaimed land. The beach that guests can use looks artificial and with a lot of stones. Personally, I don't dare go into the water as construction debris could be lurking just under the sand or water.

This resort only has one restaurant which tries to cater to all taste. It has a sunken bar at the lobby level with live music in the evening.

The resort is crisscrossed with wooden walkways that connect all the chalets. The rooms are quite sheik in design with a large bed plus a large day bed by the window. The bathroom is huge and taking a shower is very refreshing as you will be under an open roof. At night, you can hear the lapping of the sea underneath your room.

Verdict: Recommended you try the resort. Not that overly expensive.
