I was invited for an event at the Empire Hotel Subang last weekend. This hotel is a boutique hotel with some interesting peculiarities. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, I only got to get a couple of photos.
First of all, as a boutique hotel, all the typical notion of what a hotel should have must be thrown out of the window. If you have preconceived ideas, you will judge Empire Hotel Subang wrongly. The first preconceived idea that this hotel does not have is a big road-level lobby. The "lobby" that serviced the hotel to the road-level is a mere 24 feet across. There's not even a concierge waiting.
The main lobby is two floors up. By the way, this hotel is part of the Empire Shopping Mall complex that you can see on the left of the Federal highway on the way to Shah Alam.
The lobby has bold colours and really funky furniture, a.k.a.Alice in Wonderland (2010) movie. The ballroom is something else. In the picture below, you see how funky the roof of the ballroom - very disco like.
The public toilet is also unique. The choice of tiles and colours makes it look ultra-modern.
I do not have the opportunity to visit the rooms but I am definitely try to visit this hotel again as it really caught my interest!
