Van Geest Design develops new design for Icon Yachts

Van Geest Design has developed a new design for Icon Yachts, based on the Icon 72m structural and engineering platform, a variation of the Icon 62 Meter yachts. VGD has developed this yacht’s styling with a combination of hull form and subtle two-tone coloring. This design is a development from VGD’s 55M explorer design in which was used the same hull shape philosophy.

For Icon, VGD has accentuated this “styling strake” by combining it with color. The use of this styling strake leads to a simple, but stylish play of lines and surfaces, giving the yacht a distinctive and sleek appearance. By developing this eye catching hull feature, VGD steps away from conventional and traditional hull and color code.

General Layout
There are four guest cabins located on the lower deck with direct access to the wellness area nearby the transom/beach area. The wellness area opens to the VGD open transom, creating a full beach entertainment area with a true sense of being close to the elements.

The central staircase provides the connection to the main- and upper deck where there are lounge-, entertainment- and dining areas. A cinema located on tank deck level adds to the entertainment. Main crew, officers quarters and services are spread out over tank, lower and main deck. The full width owner’s suite is located forward on main deck. It has large windows and an internal staircase leading to the owner’s office on the bridge deck by the wheelhouse.

The upper deck layout is designed around the central panoramic salon (lounge and dining). There are sun lounging areas and Jacuzzi.

The tenders can be stored in ICON style tender bays in the foredeck. A helicopter can be landed on the foredeck.
