Malaysian Politics – My Thoughts

My political affiliation is for progress and stability. What party I choose is no relevance to anyone. As such, the result of the last general election has put some very interesting concepts to the fore. I would like to highlight them.

1. Responsibility
Someone must take responsibility! For the winning party, due to cultural sensitivities, no one is thick-faced enough to claim that it is they that got the votes. I got no issues here. But for the losing party, the same concept cannot be accepted. Leaders were chosen to lead and take responsibilities. As such please act like one and take responsibility. Resign and let new leaders lead.

2. Politics is Passion not Career
Any elected representative that views political office is a career should be shot! If there is no passion, people will see right through you!

3. Election is Not a Game
Ever wondered why only adults 21 years and above can vote? This is because from that age onwards, an adult should have the senses to make the right decision and live with it. Elections are serious as the implication could be felt for generations to come. Those that play games like selling votes for cash or using the election as an avenue to protest are actually playing with fire that will burn.
