For authentic Malay cuisine some trapping of style, this is the restaurant to visit. Owned by well-known Malaysian Chef Ismail as well as Malaysia’s first ‘angkasawan’ Dr. Sheikh Muszaphar, it is situated in a converted single story bangalow in Bangsar. The décor as well as the furnishing is very quaint. There is also a stage for live music, singing and karaoke during dinner.
This café has quite a number of traditional Malay dishes spread out on the buffet tables. Due to the nature of Malay cooking, most of the dishes have varying degree of spiciness. Some are very hot! One thing in common is that they are all tasty. The buffet price of RM30++ is also reasonable.
I visited this restaurant for the third time on Sunday. The first two visits were heavenly and Chef Ismail was on hand to serve the guests. However, on Sunday he wasn’t there and the food was a tad too spicy, unlike the first two visits.
Verdict: You must try, at least once. You would not regret it.
