A day in old Melaka Town

A week before the new year, we went down to Melaka town to stay with a friend overnight. While there, we went around Melaka town to enjoy the sights and sound of the old city.

There are a number of boutique hotels in town as well as along the riverside.

This is one such hotel. Looks very cool.

Near the red building are some interesting monuments such as the windmill (see below). However, the interesting part here is the 'cendol'.

The durian cendol is to die for.

We were lucky to be able to get a table to have the cendol at the shop itself.

My favorite is the 'durian cendol'.

After that we went for a cruise down the river. Here you can see a lot of boutique hotels as well as restaurants and cafes all along the riverside.

The weather was warm and sunny. A nice day for a river cruise.

If you have not been to Melaka for some time, you will see the vast changes that has happened. It is truly becoming a tourist attraction.

If you want to stay in the city, the numerous boutique hotels from 5 star to just a simple B&B style establishments are available for your choosing.

There are many mode of transport in Melaka. You can drive, take a trishaw, a boat or just simply walk.

We really enjoyed our time there.
