USA Trip 2013: Part 7.3 - The arctic exhibition, dolphin show and some kiddie attractions in Sea World

[Please refer to previous postings]

Sea World has set aside one large area for arctic based creatures. Warehouse size building where temperatures can be kept at similar levels as in the Arctics. This section is called "Wild Arctic".

Before you can see the animals, you will go on a 4D ride on a 'helicopter' to the North Pole region.

A couple of walruses were there. Huge animals. So big that birds make their back as floating islands!

Foraging for food. Note the long tusk.

There is also a penguin centre. If you want to feed them, a special fee is required.

Temperature is sub-zero. These penguins have such good fur insulation that they would die of head exhaustion if the temperature goes any higher.

Feeding time.

Nevertheless, there is one species of penguin that could adapt to San Diego's temperature climate. For these guys, their enclosure is open-air.

Beside the penguins are the seal enclosures.

Kids having fun at one of the many rides available at the park.

A lonely looking dolphin.

The observation tower was under maintenance. Pity, the view must have been fantastic. Maybe next time........

The next show on the card is the Dolphin Show. While waiting, the kids munch....

The Dolphin Show is different 17 years ago. Then, there wasn't any platforms over the water.

In fact, the show now has more human performers doing stunts on the high wire.

My daughter taking a photo with the human stars of the show.

Another area of Sea World is dedicated to kids. No animals are displayed here but instead, rides as well Sesame Street characters.

The activity park for kids is huge!

This was the final ride before closing time.

Last photo with the brand for prosperity.

A Ford Ranger...I miss my old truck!

To be continued.
