Pro Ship, an Italian design firm, have designed a 31m superyacht, for the Genoase shipyard Diano. Pro Ship is known for developing new ideas, into aesthetically pleasing, and foremost functional designs. Pro Ship has already worked with Diano before, on the build of Bliss, a 28 meters motor yacht, introduced at the last year’s Genoa International Boat Show.
Bliss was appreciated by a large number of visitors and that success marked the starting point for a fruitful cooperation and sharing of ideas that still continues today.
Starting from the presentation of the design criteria identified through a study of the DNA of the brand, in this case Diano, the creativity of the designers comes into play in order to establish the stylistic imprint that will define the yacht.
Considering these basic guidelines, Pro Ship developed project Diano Crowbridge, which will be completed at the Italian yard soon.
At 31 metres, Diano Crowbridge is the largest boat ever built by the historic yard. She has a displacement of 110t, and her twin 2.400hp MTU diesels, will push her to a top speed of 30 knots.
As with previous projects at Diano, the ultramodern Diano Crowbridge will also be constructed entirely in wood.
Building superyachts in timber is a complex process. Yachts have to undergo extremely complex procedures in order to achieve the high quality standards required by today’s superyacht owners.
The sober and elegant design of the Diano Crowbridge, a main characteristic of the Italian designers, derives through the combination of straight lines, which bring a sense of tension and sleekness to the surfaces, and large soft curves that lend it dynamism and fluidity. Through 3D modelling of the entire design, details and forms have become viewable from any angle.
