Bor / Alex sniper rifle (Poland)

Alex sniper rifle was developed at Polish factory Zakłady Mechaniczne TARNÓW S.A. (ZMT) in 2005. Its design was based on the earlier WKW Wilk / Tor large caliber sniper rifle, developed by same organization. According to available information, first production rifles were delivered to Polish army in 2008, and its factory designation "Alex" was changed to military designation "Bor". In the same year 2008, ZMT also presented a .338 Lapua Magnum prototype long-range sniper weapon, based on "Alex" rifle design.

Alex / Bor sniper rifle is a manually operated rotary bolt action weapon of bullpup layout. It is fed from detachable box magazines, and is fitted with folding adjustable bipod and adjustable rear monopod. Shoulder stock is adjustable for position, length of pull and height of the cheek rest. Standard sighting equipment is a Schmidt & Bender telescope sight, installed on Picatinny rail above the receiver.
