Recently launched 58.4 metre Kokomo, sailed the Hauraki Gulf last week and completed one of several sea trials. The keys were handed over to her Australian owner, just a few days later.
Kokomo left the men who sailed her last Thursday, only wanting more.
That day, she showed off her seaworthiness and speed whilst sailing upwind in 20 to 25 knots. Although not dressed for a photo shoot we couldn’t resist capturing the days sailing and showing her off to the world.
Kokomo, is the third superyacht for this owner, built at Alloy Yachts and designed by Dubois Naval Architects. For the third time, Peter Wilson of MCM, ably represented the owner and worked with the winning combination of Alloy Yachts, Ed Dubois and Tony Dixon of Redman Whiteley Dixon to ensure a yacht that surpassed all her predecessors.
At 58.4 metres in length, Kokomo is the largest sailing yacht to be built by Alloy Yachts, has the tallest mast ever made by Southern Spars and the largest set of sails ever built by Doyle Sails, New Zealand.
