My first RADO watch - the Diastar Diver Automatic Model R12639023
The way Rado has been able to use exotic materials for its watch designs intrigues me. Of all the Rado designs available, I like the turtle-shaped watch casing the best. So I got myself this....
Touted as the world’s first scratch-proof watch, it uses tungsten-carbide as the material for the large bezel. This alloy has a rating on the order of 1400-1700 Vickers.

A memento from Disneyworld - a Mickey Mouse automatic watch
Just got back from a very exciting holiday in Disneyworld, Florida (will be talking about it soon). As a memento of that visit, I got myself a Mickey Mouse automatic watch. It comes with a nice watch box.
The watch itself is fashioned like a sports watch. Big, bulky and manly looking. The best thing about it is the skeleton dial (which allows you to see in the innards) and the subtle mickey mouse icon on it.

A day with my Orient MForce 200m Diving Sports Automatic WV0091EL - A true all-rounder
Yesterday, I decided to wear my Orient MForce WV0091EL watch to work. Since I wanted to wear a red tie, the red dial on the watch would compliment my dressing.
Although this watch is relatively large, with a casing size of 46 mm in diameter (excluding crown and crown guard) and a height of approximately 15 mm, it doesn't look big due to the 24 mm wide bracelet that comes standard with it.
The dial is well balanced. Every hour point is indexed and the small date window has been placed closer to the center so as not to interfere with indexing. The power reserve indicator placed at the 6 o'clock position is a logical choice as it maintains the symmetry of the dial. The choice of yellow for the second-hand is clever as it contrast nicely with the deep blood red colour of the dial.
The black PVD dial makes a nice distinction between the red dial and the stainless steel watch casing and bracelet. As required for all dive watches, a lumed index is provided on the bezel at the 60 minute mark.
Orient is quite generous when applying the lume on the watch. In the shot below, despite a relatively lighted room, the lumed indexes and hands shines brightly. The proprietary chemicals used for the lume makes it comparable to the illumination created by tritium powered watches.
I find the Orient MForce to be very comfortable. As it does not have any sharp angles, it easily slips into shirt cuffs hence its ability to be used during formal functions. A true all-rounder.

Original manuscript: Hands On The Orient 300M Pro Saturation Diver SEL0200
The Orient 300M Pro Saturation Diver SEL0200 is another professional diving watch that I own. Upfront I have to admit it that this watch is by far, the best professional diving watch currently available on the market in terms of capability and value-for-money.
