Location Review: Lembah Beringin Selangor

This was one place that I did not plan to go. Just out of luck, I came about this place as I was lost searching for another place.

I exited from the Plus Expressway at the Lembah Beringin exit and immediately you would see this desolate place. Before this, I have already heard about the houses built but not occupied and also a lot of abandoned projects as the authorities decided against building the KLIA airport there. I have also heard that the bulk of banks' non-performing loans for mortgages came from this area as purchasers decided to cut loss.

The first thing that you would notice is the lack of any signage on the roads. The roads are also partially built and in certain stretches of roads, you would have to share the road with the incoming traffic. This is not a problem because there is no incoming traffic anyway!

A good number of the abandoned houses have even sprouted trees in the living rooms. Nevertheless, despite this sad state of affairs, there are people living there. Also, there is a huge golf course at the centre of the valley. From the road you can see there are quite a number of golfers playing.

If you have some spare money and you are willing to wait for at least 10 years, I would recommend you buy an acre of land to build a bungalow when this place eventually picks up.
