Went to watch the movie Battleship - My review

Went to see the movie Battleship with the kids last week.



This is a pure special effects movie without any plot what-so-ever. If fact, I won't be surprised that this movie was made purely by Hasbro to help push their "Battleship" board game.

The plot is too simplistic. For an alien intelligence to travel far through space and still don't understand the concept of a boat (crafts that go hopping on the sea?!? What not just fly???) and using chemical weapons (lobbing spinning mortar shells - don't they know anything about guided missiles?)  does not make sense.

Moreover, at the start of the movie, for a squadron of space ships to travels lights years away while maneuvering out of the way of planets, moons etc. but at the last 10,000 km, had a small accident with an Earth satellite also makes you wonder about the aliens.

Verdict: for special effects, a must see but anything else above that, its a dud.
